Certified Professional in Healthcare Quality

Although the healthcare system has weathered significant changes in the past, current times are changing even more dramatically, creating an urgent need for healthcare quality professionals to provide leadership and innovation in healthcare quality efforts.  Healthcare quality professionals in Arizona are serving as leaders in navigating changes and promoting quality.  Achieving the CPHQ® credential provides healthcare quality professionals with additional methods and tools to help them assist organizations to achieve quality outcomes.

The Healthcare Quality Certification Commission (HQCC), part of the National Association for Healthcare Quality (NAHQ), developed the Certified Professional in Healthcare Quality® (CPHQ) Credential.  According to the CPHQ® candidate examination handbook, the certification in healthcare quality is designed as a way of promoting professionalism and excellence in the healthcare quality field.  Objectives of the certification program that have been identified include promoting professional standards and improving the practice of quality, giving recognition to professionals demonstrating both knowledge and expertise through an examination, identifying knowledge of healthcare quality practice and principles, supporting continued competence, and maintaining professional standards in healthcare quality through recertification (Certified Professional in Healthcare Quality® 2021 Domestic Candidate Examination Handbook (2021).
