AzAHQ Board of Director Positions


 

The AzAHQ Board of Directors consists of AzAHQ members in good standing who are nominated or recruited and elected to their positions.  The Board may consist of no less than three (3) members (President, Secretary, and Treasurer), and up to thirteen (13) members.

Four (4-5) of the Board Directors also serve as Officers of the Association, meaning they have specific duties under law according to the Arizona state corporation laws.  These are dual position roles as the individuals serving in these positions are both Officers of the Association and Members of the Board of Directors.

OFFICERS OF THE BOARD

President

     Non-electable

The President serves for two (2) calendar years.  President is chairperson of the Board of Directors.  The Presidency is filled automatically at the end of the years (2) year term by the current President-Elect.  At the end of the two-year term, the President automatically descends to the Past President position.

 

President-Elect

     Eligible for election every other year

The President-Elect serves for one (1) calendar year.  At the end of the one (1) year term, the President-Elect automatically becomes the President.  A new President-Elect is elected every other year.  Any AzAHQ member in good standing who has prior AzAHQ board experience is eligible for consideration.

 

Past President

     Non-electable

The Past President automatically serves for two (2) calendar years after leaving the Presidency.  In the absence of the President, the Past President serves as chairperson of the Board of Directors.  At the end of the two-year term, the Past President may self-nominate for election to any electable board position.

 

Secretary

     Non-electable

The Secretary serves for two (2) calendar years.  The Secretary position is filled automatically at the end of the years (2) year term by the current Secretary-Elect.  At the end of the two-year term, the current Secretary may self-nominate for election to another electable board position.

 

Treasurer

     Non-electable

The Treasurer serves for two (2) calendar years.  In the absence of both the President and the Past President, the Treasurer serves as chairperson of the Board of Directors.  The Treasurer position is filled automatically at the end of the years (2) year term by the current Treasurer-Elect.  At the end of the two-year term, the current Treasurer may self-nominate for election to any electable board position.

 

SUPPORTING BOARD POSITIONS

There are eight (8) supporting board positions available on the Board.  Each position is a one (1) year term.  Elect and Association positions automatically ascend to their hierarchical leadership positions at the end of their elected year.

Secretary-Elect

     Eligible for election every other year

The Secretary serves for one (1) calendar year.  At the end of the one (1) year term, the Secretary-Elect automatically becomes the Secretary.  A new Secretary-Elect is elected every two (2) years.  AzAHQ members in good standing are eligible for consideration. It is not limited to those currently serving on the Board.

 

Treasurer-Elect

     Eligible for election every other year

The Treasurer serves for one (1) calendar year.  At the end of the one (1) year term, the Treasurer-Elect automatically becomes the Treasurer.  A new Treasurer-Elect is elected every two (2) years.  AzAHQ members in good standing are eligible for consideration. It is not limited to those currently serving on the Board.

 

Education Director

     Non-electable

The Education Director serves for one (1) calendar year.  The Director position is filled automatically at the end of the one- year term by the current Associate Director.  The current Director may self-nominate for election to any electable board position.

 

Education Associate Director

     Eligible for election every year

The Education Associate Director serves for one (1) calendar year.  At the end of the one (1) year term, the Associate Director automatically becomes the Director.  A new Associate Director is elected every year.  AzAHQ members in good standing are eligible for consideration. It is not limited to those currently serving on the Board.

 

Communication Director

     Non-electable

The Communication Director serves for one (1) calendar year.  The Director position is filled automatically at the end of the one- year term by the current Associate Director.  At the end of the one-year term, the current Director may self-nominate for election to any electable board position.

 

Communication Associate Director

     Eligible for election every year

The Communication Associate Director serves for one (1) calendar year.  At the end of the one-year term, the Associate Director automatically becomes the Director.  A new Associate Director is elected every year.  AzAHQ members in good standing are eligible for consideration. It is not limited to those currently serving on the Board.

 

Membership Director

     Eligible for election every year

The Membership Director serves for one (1) calendar year.  It is not limited to those currently serving on the Board.  At the end of the one-year term, the current director may self-nominate for re-election to this position or any electable board position. The position is not limited to those currently serving on the Board.

 

Director-at-Large

     Eligible for election every year

The Director-at-Large serves for one (1) calendar year.  At the end of the one-year term, the current Director-at-Large may self-nominate for re-election to this position or any electable board position. The position is not limited to those currently serving on the Board.
