SPEAKER:  Jay Spitulnik, Ph.D. is an Associate Teaching Professor and Director of the Health Informatics Graduate Program at Northeaster Universiity in Boston.

Description:  Change management in healthcare is essential for improving healthcare quality by enabling smooth transitions, reducing resistance, and ensuring sustained improvements. A well-planned approach to change benefits patients, providers, and the entire healthcare system, ultimately leading to better health outcomes and operational.

OBJECTIVES:

  1. Explain why change is necessary to refocus on what matters to the patient
  2. Define the important relationship between change management and project management in healthcare quality management activities
  3. Describe models of change
  4. Describe how the models can be applied to specific situations
