DESCRIPTION:

The Intersection of Healthcare Risk and Quality Management presentation will provide attendees with an understanding of the historical evolution of quality management and clinical risk management in healthcare. The overlap of clinical risk management with quality and patient safety will be explored. Attendees will leave this presentation with an in-depth understanding of the evolving roles between clinical risk management, quality, and patient safety.  

 

COST:
FREE event for members of AzAHQ, FAHQ, MAHQ, NEAHQ, OAHQ, NCAHQ, and OrAHQ by selecting your association's ticket type.

             Non-members: $35.    Registration ends midnight Nov 20th.

 

CE: NAHQ approved for 1.0 credit hour of CPHQ CE credit.

SPEAKER:

Erin Adams, JD, BSN, RN  | 
Director Clinical Risk Management Academic Medical Division |  Banner Health

Ms Adams, a practicing attorney in Texas, graduated from Angelo State University with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing and Texas Tech University School of Law with a Doctor of Jurisprudence. Erin has over 20 years of healthcare experience providing expertise and leadership in the areas of clinical risk management, quality, patient safety, regulatory compliance, medical staff services, claims management, and insurance administration.

 

OBJECTIVES: 

  1. Understand the history of quality management and clinical risk management in healthcare
  2. Communicate the basic components of clinical risk and quality management
  3. Describe how clinical risk management overlaps with quality and patient safety
  4. Provide an example of effective integration of quality and clinical risk management
  5. Explain the evolving roles of quality and clinical risk management in healthcare

 

 

VIRTUAL ATTENDEE PARTICIPATION VERIFICATION: AzAHQ is required to submit a list of the verified attendants to NAHQ (or other CE approval authority) within 30 days of the event. Attendance is monitored throughout the Zoom event using the 'Participant' list.  Each attendee must be signed into the virtual event with the same full name used for registration (not a family member's name or anick name or just a phone number).
