Description: This program illustrates the effectiveness of transformational leadership to enhance quality, safety, and efficiency by expanding the Tiered Safety Huddle concept at a large academic health system to include mid‐shift huddles. The organization was able to achieve quality outcome improvements around central line infections, urethral catheter infections, rate of patient falls and falls resulting in injury, and use of physical restraints by reinforcing psychological safety and creating situational awareness with a brief mid‐shift huddle on clinical inpatient units. By the end of the presentation, the participant will be able to identify factors influencing organizational outcomes, describe the benefits of Tiered Safety Huddles, and be able to apply concepts in respective work settings.
