President's Message

Dear AzAHQ Members,

The beginning of a new year brings up feelings of excitement and hope, a fresh start.  It is also a time for reflection and renewal.  Looking back over the last few years, I am truly amazed by the commitment and resilience of AzAHQ and its members.

The COVID-19 pandemic put an abrupt end to “life as usual.”  It brought on challenges that forced us to be innovative and agile.  AzAHQ quickly pivoted from a model of “in-person” only conferences to virtual conferences and webinars, and on-line board and general membership meetings.  During this transformative period, AzAHQ formed partnerships with other healthcare quality associations, known as the Healthcare Quality Collective.  This partnership dramatically increased the number of educational opportunities through webinars for the members of all partner associations at no added cost.

Over this past year, as we grappled with the “new normal,” much effort has been devoted to ensuring a sustainable future for AzAHQ.  In 2022, the organization developed a multi-year strategic plan, improved processes around budgeting and financial forecasting, and surveyed the needs of our members.  This work has been instrumental in helping to re-shape our priorities and re-focus our efforts on ensuring that our members are getting the best value out of their AzAHQ membership.

2023 is already shaping up to be an exciting year for AzAHQ! Based on your feedback we will be offering hybrid conferences, enabling members to attend in-person or virtually.  We will be developing and strengthening our committee structure, allowing members more opportunities for volunteering and engaging with AzAHQ. We will also work to grow our healthcare quality community through intentional member outreach, developing partnerships with local educational institutions and organizations and creating more opportunities for our members to network and learn from each other.

I want to thank each and every one of you for your commitment and support to AzAHQ.  We would not be where we are today without you.

I wish each and every one of you a safe and happy 2023!
